Max Green Line Grand Opening in Clackamas County
Come join in the festivities and help celebrate the opening of the Max Green Line on Saturday, September 12th, 2009. There are various displays, demonstrations, food, games and entertainment planned at the Clackamas Town Center, and the Fuller Road station beginning at 11:30 am and continuing until 6pm. The entertainment starts off with the Clackamas High School Band at the Clackamas Town Center from 11:30 am and continues until 12:30pm. Free rides will be offered on the new line, beginning at 11:30 am to the end of the service day, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The green line will run every 15 minutes during the day from 6am-7pm on weekdays and from 10:30am-6pm on weekends. The line will travel on new tracks alongside I-205 from the Clackamas Town Center to the Gateway station and will share existing Blue/Red line tracks from Gateway to the PDX center. There are 5 new Park and Ride lots between the Clackamas Town Center and the Gateway Station. In addition to a connection to PDX (the airport), Clackamas County residents will have choices from traveling through downtown to Portland State University, or continuing to Beaverton, Hillsboro, and other stops in Washington County.
Other transit projects in the works are the next Max line from downtown Portland to Milwaukie (expected opening in 2015), and the Portland Streetcar extension to Lake Oswego (still in the planning stage). To plan your trip or to get schedule and fare information call (503) 238-RIDE (7433).
