The Joy of Giving
UPDATE: Just wanted to say Thank You So Much to everyone that helped out, the response was amazing.
HEY FRIENDS: I know this is long…but PLEASE read all.
K Friends…time to clean out your couches, and find all that change in your vehicle…Every penny will help. Skip that trip to McDonalds just once, or that Starbucks for one day…and help a wonderful family in need.
I found out more about the family…..so if you would like to help, let me know, and I can give you all the specifics. If you live in my area, I can meet up with you to collect any change you’re willing to part with. If you’re not in the Portland area, I’ll pay for postage..and give you my address. If you’d like to remain anonymous, (like we are), then you shall remain…However, if you would like the family to know who it is coming from, that is fine too.
If all you can give is a bunch of bananas or a pack of gum…it’s all in the spirit of giving and helping….nothing is too small.
(Original Story)
Our family is not exchanging gifts this year, so that we could help a family in need. The challenge is, the family in need, is quite large. The father lost his job a week ago, and the mother just found out she is losing her job on the 23rd of Dec., right before Christmas. They have 6 kids..2 teenagers, a 10yr old, 11yr old, a 4 yr old, and a 3 yr old. I will be finding out more info this afternoon if they are boys or girls, and the ages of the teenagers. If anyone would want to help with any type of donation, I know the family will be truly grateful. We will be delivering gifts, food and any money we can raise on the Thursday, the 22nd if the afternoon. If you would be able to help, let me know Laura@m-homes.net or you can call me at 971-678-3972.
