Because of this enormous growth Happy Valley was issued its own zip code, 97086, by the United States Postal Service in 2006.

Natural surroundings provide plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities both in Happy Valley, and beyond. A short drive is Mt. Hood and the Mt. Hood National Forest, Clackamas River, Cascade Mountains and the Columbia River Gorge that provides great hiking, biking, golf, boating, fishing and winter sports.
